Finnish authoritories inquires on DF policies of JWs
by InquiryMan inuntil now, only senior members of the jehovahs witnesses committee have had access to the congregation's secret book of rules.. the disciplinary activities of the jehovah's witnesses committee have been criticised for violating human rights.. http://yle.fi/uutiset/jehovahs_witnesses_to_hand_over_top_secret_manual/7244267.
link from the major finnish tv broadcaster.
according to anna-maja henriksson, finland's minister of justice, the purpose of the handover is to examine the book and determine whether its rules and regulations run counter to finnish law.. henriksson and interior minister paivi rasanen met on thursday with the leadership of the jehovah's witnesses in helsinki.

What I Like About This Forum...
by Tempest in a Teacup in...is that it gives me insight into jw circles i'd otherwise never know.. my mother loathes gossip and derives a personal pleasure in shutting jw gossips up.
as a family, we belong to that boring side of the congregation which never hear any of the juicy stories on the going-ons in the hall.. this forum however makes it possible to have a real panoramic view of the whole thingy.
from the gb to bethel, to the elders and their families, to the ninja-pioneer army, and many other cliques in the congregations.

Introducing myself
by maksutov inmy name is russ, i'm 40 years old, from the uk, and i left the jws nearly 5 years ago.
i've been a member of the yuku board throughout that time, so there are probably some on here who know me already.
there seems to be more activity over here at the moment, so i thought i'd pop in and say hi.i was raised as a jw, started questioning it when i was 16, but there was no internet back then (well, no www anyway) so i got sucked right in and got baptized when i was 18. auxiliary pioneered on and off for a couple of years, then became a ministerial servant.

New Apostate: Tempest in a Teacup
by Tempest in a Teacup infirst post on here.
i've been lurking for 3-4 years and i mean i've been a mega lurker, doing marathon reading sessions for months or weeks.. sometimes i proceed by researching specific topics, or posters; other times just reading current discussions.
i'm particularly fond of "old" post, i.e 10-12-15 years ago.. i have laughed, smiled, got mad, cried etc, just reading some threads here.. as you can see i suffer from some kind of "accute lurkitis".
